Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of commercial laundry or housekeeping experience preferred
  • Knowledge of laundry sorting, washing, drying, pressing, and folding procedures

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform various general housekeeping and cleaning duties in multiple areas to maintain sanitary, safe, attractive, and orderly conditions
  • Perform all general laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, pressing, folding and distributing linens and clothing
  • Coordinate inventory of clothing and personal items of new residents and ensure proper identification
  • Pick up soiled linen brutes from designated areas and prepare articles for washing by unbuttoning, turning out pockets, and unrolling sleeves
  • Sort soiled laundry into appropriate washing loads following standard washing procedures
  • Manage drying of linens and resident clothing using dryers
  • Press garments, inspect linens for wear or tears, fold linen and distribute sufficient clean linen to designated areas
  • Ensure clothing is accurately returned to residents and dispose of unmarked items following protocols
  • Maintain laundry equipment cleanliness by cleaning washers, dryers, lint filters, and soap dispensers regularly
  • Replenish cleaning products and manage inventory to ensure adequate supplies
  • Apply knowledge of sanitation regulations and demonstrate team management abilities
  • Recommend improvements to enhance service efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff regarding laundry services requests, infection prevention, and service resolution
  • Follow work assignments and cleaning schedules as outlined by the supervisor for housekeeping areas
  • Support housekeeping by filling vacant roles and performing emergency cleaning duties as required
  • Perform additional cleaning tasks like dusting, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanliness in various parts of the facility
