The Laundry Attendant role is pivotal within our housekeeping department, ensuring that all linens, towels, and laundry items are clean, well-maintained, and readily available for use. The role involves operating commercial laundering machines, sorting and folding linens, inspecting items for damage, and managing inventory supplies. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in laundry or housekeeping preferred
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for long periods
  • Basic understanding of safety and hygiene standards
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry operations and procedures
  • Knowledge of proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals
  • General knowledge of equipment such as vacuums, commercial washers and dryers
  • Able to understand and speak some of the English language
  • Able to prioritize work assignments
  • Demonstrate genuine care for customers and employees
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Able to stand for the majority of shift

Job Duties

  • Perform all stages of laundering process including collecting, transporting, sorting, loading and unloading, folding, storing, and delivering
  • Ensure sheets, bed linens, towels, and other linens are laundered to standards set forth by brand and hotel management
  • Iron and press linens as necessary
  • Inspect linen on regular basis for tears, holes, or sub-standard conditions and remove from inventory
  • Handle contaminated articles per company, franchise, and OSHA standards
  • Maintain clean laundry room and facilities
  • inform appropriate personnel of maintenance needs
  • Maintain the inventory of cleaning supplies and linen
  • inform the Executive Housekeeper of any inventory needs
  • Respond to guest service issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
