Job Description

The Hotel is a dynamic hospitality establishment committed to providing exceptional guest services in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it offers a variety of accommodations and amenities designed to meet the needs of business and leisure travelers alike. As part of the housekeeping and maintenance division, the hotel ensures that all guest needs are met with efficiency and professionalism.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant to join our team and contribute to maintaining the high standard of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. This pivotal role involves the efficient retrieval, processing, and distribution of laundry services to all guests. The Laundry Attendant will be responsible for sorting stained or damaged linens and garments, deciding if they require rewash or need to be discarded, and keeping an accurate inventory of discarded items. Operating ironing and folding machines in accordance with company specifications to process cleaned articles is a key part of the job, alongside folding clean articles and organizing them by type and size for distribution.

The ideal candidate will be conscientious, detail-oriented, and able to work flexible shifts due to the hotel’s around-the-clock operations. Additional responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining the laundry machinery, ensuring that chemicals and water are used efficiently and safely in line with OSHA and hotel policy, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work areas throughout shifts. The Laundry Attendant will also play an important role in adhering to all company policies, safety procedures, and fire prevention protocols, including the correct use of protective equipment and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents to management.

This position demands physical endurance as employees will frequently lift, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending, twisting, standing for extended periods, and continuous movement throughout the department are integral to the job function. While no prior experience is required, the hotel values any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills for the role. Maintaining a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with the team member handbook is expected.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Sort stained or damaged items and determine status for rewash or discard
  • maintain continuous inventory of discarded items
  • operate ironing and folder machines according to specifications
  • fold cleaned articles and stack by type and size in designated distribution areas
  • remove lint and debris from dryer filters as specified
  • use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements
  • check working condition and cleanliness of laundry machinery
  • monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize consumption
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout shift
  • restock work areas for next shift as assigned
  • turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys
  • adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security procedures and rules
  • know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilize protective equipment
  • report unsafe conditions to management
  • report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management
  • provide for a safe work environment by following safety and security procedures
  • maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as outlined in team member handbook
  • perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
  • assist other housekeeping personnel when needed
