Job Requirements
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds required
- frequent bending while loading/unloading washers/dryers, sorting linen and folding
- continuous movement throughout department
- standing required during entire shift
- frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling
Job Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability
- no previous experience required
Job Duties
- Sort stained or damaged items and determine status for rewash or discard
- maintain continuous inventory of discarded items
- operate ironing and folder machines according to specifications
- fold cleaned articles and stack by type and size in designated distribution areas
- remove lint and debris from dryer filters as specified
- use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements
- check working condition and cleanliness of laundry machinery
- monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize consumption
- maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout shift
- restock work areas for next shift as assigned
- turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys
- adhere to all company policies and procedures
- follow safety and security procedures and rules
- know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
- utilize protective equipment
- report unsafe conditions to management
- report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management
- provide for a safe work environment by following safety and security procedures
- maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as outlined in team member handbook
- perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
- assist other housekeeping personnel when needed
