Job Duties
- Sort soiled linens, towels, and uniforms by color, fabric type, and level of soiling
- Wash, dry, and fold items according to hotel procedures and care instructions
- Use industrial washing machines, dryers, and pressing equipment safely and efficiently
- Monitor equipment for proper functioning and report any malfunctions or repairs needed
- Check for stains, tears, or damage on linens and garments
- Treat stains and perform minor repairs such as sewing small tears or replacing buttons
- Restock clean linens and towels in storage areas or deliver them to housekeeping or other departments as needed
- Keep an accurate inventory of linens to ensure adequate supply levels
- Clean and organize the laundry room to maintain hygiene and operational efficiency
- Dispose of trash, lint, and other waste materials properly
- Follow health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and equipment
- Ensure compliance with hotel and brand quality standards for laundered items
- Assist housekeeping staff with additional laundry-related tasks, such as collecting used linens from guest rooms
- Prioritize tasks to ensure laundry is cleaned and delivered in a timely manner, especially during peak times
