Known for rewarding hard-working and caring professionals, St. Ann's Community offers competitive pay, excellent benefits, and the opportunity for career growth. The organization emphasizes a culture of respect, inclusivity, and equal opportunity, aligned with a strong Affirmative Action Program that prohibits discrimination on any legally protected grounds including race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, and veteran status.
The position of Laundry Assistant (Per Diem) at St. Ann's Home is a vital role focusing on maintaining the residents’ comfort and hygiene through meticulous handling of personal clothing and bed linens. This per diem role involves preparing, sorting, washing, drying, and distributing linens and clothing to designated areas within the care facility. Through this position, the Laundry Assistant directly contributes to the smooth operation of the laundry services, ensuring that residents receive clean and properly handled garments and linens. The position offers a salary range of $16 to $19.15 per hour, alongside benefits such as dental, medical, vision coverage, a 403(b) retirement plan, life insurance, health savings accounts, and tuition assistance or scholarship opportunities, supporting the employee’s healthcare needs and professional development.
As a Laundry Assistant, the individual is responsible for transporting soiled linens in laundry bags from collection points to the laundry department, accurately sorting items by type including towels, washcloths, pants, underwear, and blankets, among others. The role requires the operation of washers, dryers, and steam tunnels safely and efficiently to produce finished garments, along with loading and unloading laundry machines and distribution carts. The assistant maintains daily production records, manages departmental equipment like rolling stacks and linen exchange carts, and ensures timely delivery of clean items to the appropriate residential floors and room numbers. This critical behind-the-scenes role supports the overall quality of care residents receive and helps maintain the operational excellence of St. Ann's laundry services.
