Mount St. Luke's Community Care (MSLCC) is a respected healthcare and senior living facility dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality care to its residents. Known for its commitment to excellence, MSLCC operates with a mission to enrich the lives of the elderly by providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. The facility is equipped with modern amenities and staffed by professionals who prioritize the dignity and comfort of each individual in their care. As part of its comprehensive services, MSLCC emphasizes attention to detail and adherence to health and safety standards across all departments, ensuring a holistic approach to resident wellness and satisfaction.
This position is a part-time Laundry Services role, scheduled for shifts between 7:00am and 3:30pm, usually once or twice a week. The Laundry Aide will be responsible for managing the laundry needs of the community, including resident personal clothing, facility linens, and various supplies. This role is essential in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards within the care environment and supporting the overall operations of MSLCC.
The incumbent will perform a variety of tasks related to laundry care such as sorting, washing, drying, folding, ironing, and organizing linens and clothing. The position demands physical stamina including the ability to lift and pull items weighing up to 35 pounds frequently throughout the shift, standing and walking for a majority of the working hours, and performing repetitive motions like bending and reaching. It requires a proactive attitude towards adapting to changing procedures, cooperation with other staff, and respectful communication with residents. Safety and sanitation are critical components of the role, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
Additionally, the Laundry Services team member will engage with residents and their families to address concerns about personal clothing and items, ensuring a high standard of customer service consistent with MSLCC's values. Attention to detail, such as logging fire retardant applications and managing chemical supplies safely, is necessary for compliance with organizational policies and state regulations. This role also involves participation in safety programs and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to a secure and efficient workplace. Overall, the Laundry Services position at MSLCC offers a meaningful opportunity for individuals seeking part-time employment in a supportive healthcare setting, delivering essential services that enhance resident care and facility operation.
