Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs
- Ability to raise a tray weighing up to 25 lbs to shoulder height
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grab
- Must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in the work area
- Must be able to stand and walk throughout a 4 to 8-hour shift
- Must be able to hear well in a loud environment
- Must meet state, county, or municipal regulations pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
- Must be able to observe and differentiate between monetary denominations
- Must be able to serve all menu products
- Must be able to work flexible schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- Possesses excellent guest service skills
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must meet Denny's uniform and grooming standards
- Possesses basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
- Places a value on diversity and shows respect for others
Job Duties
- Taking food orders and keeping drinks filled
- Making sure guests' meals and their experience is as perfect as possible
- Serving guests with a warm friendly smile
- Greeting, seating, and servicing guests in a courteous manner
- Taking and delivering orders
- Suggestively selling menu items
- Receiving payment and operating point-of-sale system
- Assisting other service personnel as needed
- Responding to and addressing guest concerns in a timely manner
- Adhering to health and safety regulations
- Lifting and carrying supplies up to 30 lbs
- Operating restaurant equipment
- Working flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
