Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate accurately with emergency personnel
  • Ability to operate electronic equipment including two-way radios and computers
  • Excellent observation and note-taking skills
  • Ability to remain alert and vigilant throughout shifts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read fine print and comprehend detailed documents
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Equivalent work experience considered
  • Previous dispatcher experience preferred
  • Connecticut Guard Card preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook
  • Strong observation, interviewing, listening, and note-taking skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills to handle public and employees
  • Ability to remain alert and vigilant
  • Ability to safely safeguard confidential information
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
  • Strong attention to detail for data entry and report writing

Job Duties

  • Operate a radio console and paging system
  • Receive and transmit park transmissions via two-way radios
  • Operate a telephone console, receive and relay messages
  • Direct requests for assistance for security, law enforcement, and EMS
  • Maintain a complete log of telephone and radio calls
  • Input data into the computerized dispatching system
  • Perform tests of emergency communications equipment
  • Contact local law enforcement personnel when necessary
  • Report and dispatch on security incidents and threats
  • Oversee and report on security surveillance
  • Maintain and review security records
  • Maintain professional communications with emergency responders
  • Assist with developing incident reports
  • Follow standard operating procedures
  • Perform administrative duties
  • All other duties assigned by leadership
