The Fine Dining Waiter/Waitress is tasked with providing professional, friendly, and courteous food and beverage service to every guest, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and valued throughout their dining experience. The position requires a keen ability to interact with the public with excellent communication skills and a strong grasp of fine dining service standards, including detailed knowledge of menus, wine lists, and daily specials. Physical stamina is essential due to the demands of walking, standing, and tray carrying. This role operates within the guidelines set by Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, including Internal Control Standards and information security policies.

The position offers a starting salary rate of $10.70 per hour, with compensation negotiable based on experience and education. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for hospitality, a calm and professional demeanor in fast-paced environments, and those who enjoy teamwork and delivering exceptional customer service. The waiter/waitress will uphold Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel's prestigious reputation by adhering to the standards of American fine dining service, including proper wine service and customer satisfaction protocols. Duties include greeting guests promptly, managing orders accurately, maintaining dining room cleanliness, supporting team members, and engaging guests with a hospitable and attentive approach.

In addition to routine service responsibilities, the waiter/waitress contributes to the smooth operational flow by performing opening and closing side work, maintaining a neat and organized workstation, and ensuring compliance with liquor laws and company regulations. The role also involves being knowledgeable about the casino and hotel’s history, layout, and facilities to address guest inquiries effectively. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and demonstrate a positive attitude and professionalism at all times. Completion of all required Seneca Gaming Corporation training programs within nine months of employment is mandatory, reflecting the company's commitment to continuous employee growth and adherence to industry standards.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • Customer service and at least three years of fine dining server experience preferred
  • Proficient in large tray service
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively and interact well with customers and employees
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Must have an outgoing friendly personality and a cheerful accommodating disposition
  • Must remain calm and professional in a fast paced environment
  • Be organized and utilize time well
  • Must be a team player

Job Duties

  • Report to work on time well-groomed in full uniform with badge on upper left side of uniform
  • Provide prompt friendly and courteous service of food and beverage to all guests
  • Be hospitable friendly and polite with all guests co-workers and management using positive body language
  • Maintain full knowledge of menu wine list and daily features
  • Serve and clear tables brush crumbs from tables replenish beverages as needed
  • Inquire about guest satisfaction within one to two minutes of main course being served
  • Follow all tip-out procedures according to standards
  • Assist all employees in performing their duties whenever required and work as one team
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures pertaining to liquor laws
