Located at 4110 South Street in Lafayette, Indiana, this Drury Hotels property seeks a dedicated and dynamic individual to join their team as a Bartender opening and closing the Kitchen+Bar. This role is vital for maintaining high standards of service and hospitality, ensuring the food preparation and bar areas are clean, organized, and efficiently operated in adherence to company policies and procedures.
The position offers a blend of operational, service, and customer engagement responsibilities, requiring the candidate to demonstrate both bartending proficiency and supervisory capabilities. Working under general supervision, the Bartender will be responsible for opening and closing the Kitchen+Bar, mixing and serving a diverse array of beverages, preparing ingredients, and contributing to cocktail service or other functions to support seamless hotel operations. This position is especially important in promoting the Drury culture by exhibiting integrity, professionalism, and exceptional service to guests and fellow team members alike.
The role demands an ability to handle money accurately, operate point-of-sale systems, and utilize kitchen and bar equipment effectively. Moreover, diplomats and excellent communication skills are needed to manage difficult situations with guests or team members, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor at all times. Candidates must be comfortable operating under fast-paced conditions while ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Ideal candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess at least one year of bartending experience, with supervisory experience preferred. Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years old or older
- One experience bartending required
- Two or more years of bartender and supervisory experience preferred
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of two years of college preferred
- Ability to take written and verbal direction in English and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to mix and serve a wide variety of drinks in a fast-paced environment
- Perform duties of bartender, prep cook, and cocktail server or other positions as needed
- Requires ability to obtain and maintain all appropriate certifications per company requirements
- Ability to handle money, make change and utilize office machines in normal day-to-day activities
- Ability to operate machines and equipment used, including but not limited to, cash register, POS software, dishwashers, kitchen equipment, etc
- Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism including bar guests and when leading other team members
- Ability to open and close bar, obtain all supplies necessary for mixing cocktails, and clean and maintain areas for which responsible
- Ability to distinguish between different denominations of currency and make appropriate change
