The current opening is for a Kitchen and Bar team member position at their Charlotte, North Carolina location situated at 6920 Northlake Mall Drive. This role offers a starting wage of $13.00 per hour plus tips, under general supervision. The Kitchen and Bar team member is expected to open and close the bar and kitchen areas following established company policies and procedures. The position demands maintaining a clean, organized food preparation and bar environment while delivering exceptional guest service. Integral to this role is demonstrating a high standard of integrity, service, and hospitality to uphold and promote the proud Drury culture within the hotel. The individual will utilize a general knowledge of hotel operations, local area, and events to assist guest inquiries effectively. Essential responsibilities include the preparation and serving of a wide range of drinks, handling money accurately, operating point-of-sale and kitchen equipment, and supporting other areas such as cocktail serving or prep cooking as necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • One year of bartending experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required certifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both written and verbal
  • Ability to mix and serve drinks in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to handle money and operate related equipment
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization of bar and kitchen areas
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to open and close the bar and manage inventory and supplies

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • One year of bartending experience required, two or more years preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, two years of college preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary certifications
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to mix and serve drinks efficiently
  • Ability to handle money and make change accurately
  • Proficient in operating relevant machines and equipment including POS systems and kitchen devices
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle difficult situations professionally
  • Capable of opening and closing the bar and managing supplies

Job Duties

  • Open and close the hotel kitchen and bar following company policies
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of food prep and bar areas
  • Mix and serve a wide variety of drinks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Serve and assist guests with high standards of integrity, service, and hospitality
  • Handle money, make change, and operate cash register and POS software
  • Perform duties of bartender, prep cook, cocktail server, and other positions as needed
  • Use knowledge of hotel, local area, and events to answer guest questions
