The role available is that of a Utility Worker within the Food and Beverage Outlets. This position is crucial to the daily operations of the restaurant and banquet services, focusing primarily on maintaining sanitation and cleanliness throughout the work areas. The Utility Worker is responsible for cleaning various restaurant equipment and utensils, ensuring that all kitchen surfaces and floors are consistently clean and safe. This includes sweeping, mopping, and managing trash collection to prevent any obstruction or hazards that could compromise safety.
Beyond basic cleaning duties, the Utility Worker supports the kitchen team with simple maintenance tasks associated with dishwashing machines and compartment sinks, helping to maintain efficient functioning of essential equipment. The role also involves stock management and assisting with food receiving and storage organization, which demands attention to detail and adherence to safety standards for chemical storage and food handling. In some instances, the Utility Worker might be required to assist with basic food preparation under the supervision of kitchen staff.
This position requires someone who is dependable, can work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, and is capable of operating smartphone technology to utilize company applications and communication tools effectively. Candidates must obtain a New Mexico liquor server’s license and a Food Handler’s card within three months of hire and secure a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming and Regulatory Commission non-key license. Physically, the position demands standing and walking for extended periods, and the ability to lift and move heavy items regularly, sometimes exceeding 100 pounds, in an environment that may experience extreme temperatures.

Job Requirements
- preference given to qualified santa ana tribal members
- high school diploma or ged required
- obtain a new mexico liquor server’s license and a food handler’s card within 90 days of hire
- must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- smartphone capable of running company applications and communication systems
- able to proficiently use smartphone for company applications, email, and text
- must be able to obtain and maintain pueblo of santa ana gaming and regulatory commission non-key license
- able to stand, walk, bend and lift
- must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- able to walk or stand for extended periods of time
- ability to work in areas with extreme temperatures for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or ged
- ability to obtain new mexico liquor server’s license and food handler’s card within 90 days of hire
- experience with restaurant or food service sanitation preferred

Job Duties
- maintains kitchen sanitation in accordance with all health department guidelines
- always maintains safe food handling procedures
- washes restaurant and banquet items including silverware, dishes, cooking utensils, equipment and displays
- regularly maintains cleanliness of kitchen floors by sweeping, mopping, and ensuring safe and debris-free work areas
- empties and replaces liners in all trash receptacles
- performs simple maintenance of dishwashing machines and compartment sinks to ensure proper working order
- maintains sanitation of food speed racks, food bins, dry storage racks, and manages orderliness of chemical storage room
- assists culinary team in receiving and storing orders
- may assist with simple food preparation tasks
- performs other duties as assigned
