Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in a professional restaurant kitchen is preferred
  • personable and enjoys working with people and a diverse team
  • availability to work weekends, day shifts and evening shifts
  • valid Food Handlers Certification Card or be able to take a company provided course within 30 days of hire
  • ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 40 pounds
  • ability to frequently bend and reach overhead
  • ability to lift and use utensils including chopping and grip kitchen equipment
  • ability to work in fluctuating temperatures ranging from hot (high radiant heat areas ~ 82 degrees) to cold (food storage areas ~ 37 degrees)
  • ability to work near open flames, hot cooking equipment and steam
  • ability to perform repetitive motion activities
  • ability to work in tight spaces such as dish stations
  • ability to recognize, perceive, communicate and comprehend directions and spatial cues
  • ability to sit, squat and kneel occasionally
  • ability to regularly move around the restaurant carrying items
  • must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Job Qualifications

  • Personable and enjoys working with people and a diverse team
  • 1-2 years experience in a professional restaurant kitchen preferred
  • Valid Food Handlers Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Ability to work weekends, day and evening shifts
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain high standards of food quality and sanitation
  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations and safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature by regulating ovens, fryers and kitchen equipment
  • Ensure product quality through tasting procedures, rotation, storage and labeling
  • Carry product, equipment and utensils to and from storage and work areas
  • Maintain sufficient product levels at line stations
  • Understand orders on the KDS screen
  • Clean and sanitize work station including tables, shelves, walls, griddles, fryers, ovens and kitchen equipment
  • Load utensils and kitchen tools into dishwashing machines and keep dish area organized
  • Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
  • Clean, sweep and mop restaurant spaces including restrooms
  • Reinforce guest trust by complying with sanitation standards, portion sizes, recipes and kitchen policies
  • Assist with receiving and storage of incoming orders
  • Take initiative in fulfilling job duties and communicate equipment or safety concerns
  • Troubleshoot kitchen issues calmly and communicate transparently
  • Work collaboratively to support team and assist with training
  • Maintain regular attendance at shifts, training and meetings
