Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in Glendale, California, stands as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda is renowned for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a culture rooted in family values and community involvement. The company remains committed to inspiring their team members and improving the lives of their employees and the communities they serve. At Panda, inclusivity and equal opportunity stand at the forefront, with strong policies against discrimination based on various legally protected characteristics. Their workplace supports diversity and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws regarding accommodation for qualified individuals, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This commitment to a supportive and inclusive work environment helps Panda maintain a loyal and motivated workforce.
The Kitchen Team Associate role at Panda offers a unique opportunity for those eager to join a dynamic culinary environment where the culture is centered around teamwork, respect, and continuous learning. This is an entry-level position designed not only for experienced individuals but also for those who are new to the food service industry, as Panda provides comprehensive training to equip team members with the necessary skills to succeed. Kitchen Team Associates play a crucial role in ensuring guests enjoy a high-quality dining experience by preparing delicious food while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen. Working in a fast-paced environment, associates may take on various positions including front counter, drive-through, and kitchen tasks, adapting to the needs of the day.
This role is ideal for friendly, hardworking team players who thrive in a positive and supportive atmosphere. Associates interact directly with guests, greeting them warmly and handling food orders efficiently, which requires excellent verbal communication skills and a customer-focused mindset. Additionally, associates contribute to maintaining the store’s appearance and adhering to strict operational, safety, and food quality standards. The job requires physical stamina as employees may need to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in surroundings that include heat, noise, and limited space. Panda embraces a philosophy of giving back, inviting associates to get involved in community outreach programs like Panda Cares, which enriches the work experience and promotes social responsibility.
Panda offers flexible scheduling and competitive hourly pay ranging from $21.50 to $24.50, depending on location and experience. Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision insurance, and voluntary short-term disability coverage. There are also health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, a 401K plan with company match, paid vacation and sick leave, associate discounts, referral bonuses, and career development opportunities including leadership training and potential growth into management roles. Candidates who join Panda benefit not only from a rewarding job but also from a supportive community focused on personal and professional growth. Overall, this position offers a stable and enriching career pathway within a well-established and family-oriented company dedicated to quality food and exceptional guest service.
