Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a renowned and established American Chinese restaurant company founded in Glendale, California in 1983. With a rich history spanning over four decades, Panda Restaurant Group has grown to be the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. Today, it operates close to 2,800 locations globally, serving a diverse clientele with its exceptional Asian dining experiences. The company is dedicated not just to providing delicious dishes but also to building an organization where people are inspired to better their lives, making it a workplace that values family, community, and personal growth. Their mission focuses on delivering high-quality food with top-notch service in an environment where team members feel they belong and are valued.
The role of a Kitchen Team Associate at Panda Restaurant Group offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a friendly, supportive, and dynamic team dedicated to culinary excellence and outstanding guest experiences. This employment position is hourly, with a pay range between $17 and $20 per hour, determined based on factors such as work location and prior experience. Although prior experience in food operations is a plus, it is not mandatory as Panda provides hands-on paid training to help associates succeed and grow within the company.
As a Kitchen Team Associate, you will be central to the mission of creating an exceptional dining atmosphere by preparing fresh and quality food while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. The work environment is fast-paced and energetic, requiring team members to multitask and rotate across different stations including the front counter, drive-through, and kitchen areas. This role demands both efficiency and accuracy as you handle food preparation, customer service including greeting guests, serving food, and managing payments at the cash register. Panda Restaurant Group emphasizes a culture where teamwork, mutual respect, and a positive attitude are core to achieving daily goals and delivering a memorable dining experience.
Working at Panda is not just about what you do during shifts; it also extends to being a part of a community committed to giving back. The company supports social responsibility initiatives such as the Panda Cares program, through which team members can make a positive impact in their local communities. Moreover, Panda prioritizes associates’ growth by offering ongoing career and leadership development opportunities, including pathways to management positions. Working conditions include managing some physical demands, such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in environments with heat and noise, which team members are expected to adapt to with resilience and professionalism.
This position offers a range of attractive benefits to enhance job satisfaction and employee well-being. These include flexible scheduling to accommodate different lifestyles, great pay, complimentary meals during shifts, and robust medical, vision, and dental insurance plans for full-time associates. Additionally, employees can take advantage of voluntary short-term disability, cancer income protection insurance, 401K plans with company match, health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, paid vacation and sick leave, and more. There are also incentives like referral bonuses, associate discounts, and the opportunity to participate in leadership development programs, all aimed at supporting a rewarding and long-term career with Panda Restaurant Group.
