Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. stands as the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States since its founding in 1983 in Glendale, California. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda Restaurant Group has maintained a strong commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences, underscored by a mission to build an organization where individuals are inspired to better their lives. The company emphasizes family values and community impact, creating work environments where team members are supported, encouraged to grow, and empowered to contribute positively to their surroundings through initiatives like Panda Cares. As a company, Panda Restaurant Group is devoted to inclusivity and equal opportunity employment, ensuring a diverse workplace free from discrimination based on protected characteristics such as gender, race, ethnicity, disability, and more. It also complies fully with federal, state, and local laws regarding workplace accommodations, offering reasonable adjustments when needed to support all employees in their roles.
The role of Kitchen Team Associate at Panda Restaurant Group is a welcoming opportunity for individuals eager to join a friendly and dynamic team dedicated to cooking delicious food and maintaining high standards of cleanliness. This position is ideally suited for people who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where every day brings new tasks and chances to learn. Whether you have prior experience or not, Panda offers paid hands-on training to prepare you for success and opportunities for career advancement that can lead to management roles. Kitchen Team Associates play a crucial part in delivering exceptional guest experiences by greeting customers, serving food, handling cash register transactions, and ensuring the restaurant maintains its quality and cleanliness standards consistently. Working efficiently across various positions – including front counter, drive-through, and kitchen – associates are expected to collaborate with their coworkers to meet daily goals in a positive atmosphere.
Additionally, the workplace conditions require associates to be able to work standing for extended periods, manage physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, and handle kitchen tools safely and quickly. The environment can be hot and loud, necessitating adaptability, strong verbal communication skills, and the ability to navigate a fast-changing work setting effectively. Panda also promotes a healthy work-life balance by offering flexible schedules, competitive pay, free meals during shifts, and a comprehensive benefits package for eligible full-time associates. This package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, various disability and protection plans, flexible spending accounts, a 401K plan with company match, paid leave options, associate discounts, and referral bonuses. Overall, Panda Restaurant Group provides a supportive and engaging work culture where you can not only gain valuable skills but also make a meaningful contribution to both the company and your community.
