Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in America, founded in 1983 in Glendale, California. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda is dedicated to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences by fostering a culture that inspires its employees to better their lives. The company embraces family values and is committed to positively impacting both its teams and the communities it serves. Panda's mission extends beyond providing great food to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment that encourages growth, learning, and teamwork.
The role of a Kitchen Team Associate at Panda offers a unique opportunity for those who enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment surrounded by friendly team members. This position is ideal for individuals who want to develop culinary skills, engage with customers, and contribute to maintaining high standards of food quality and cleanliness. Whether you have prior experience or are new to the foodservice industry, Panda offers training and ongoing development to help you succeed and advance your career.
As a Kitchen Team Associate, you will participate in various essential functions such as greeting guests, serving food, and handling transactions at the cash register. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and appearance of the store, adhering to operation standards and safety procedures that guarantee fresh, high-quality food. Flexibility is key in this role, as associates may be asked to work at different positions including the front counter, drive-through, or kitchen areas, helping to create a smooth, enjoyable dining experience for patrons.
The position requires working efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. Associates collaborate closely with their teammates to meet daily goals in a friendly and positive atmosphere. Panda values the contributions of its team members and offers a work environment where colleagues often become friends. Team members not only gain valuable skills but also have opportunities for career growth, including management roles.
In addition to the on-the-job experience, Panda is proud to involve its employees in community outreach through the Panda Cares initiative, allowing associates to make a positive social impact. The company is committed to providing a safe, supportive workplace that respects diversity, inclusiveness, and equal opportunity for all. This position requires employees to be capable of handling physical demands such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a hot environment.
This is a fantastic entry-level role for those seeking flexible schedules and competitive pay. Full-time associates may qualify for various benefits that support their health, financial security, and work-life balance. Panda Restaurant Group is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to accommodating qualified individuals under the Americans with Disabilities Act, promoting accessibility during both the hiring process and employment.
