Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., established in 1983 in Glendale, California, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With close to 2,300 locations worldwide, Panda is a renowned name for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences. The company's mission goes beyond serving delicious food; it focuses on building an inspiring organization that positively impacts the lives of its employees, customers, and the community. Panda is committed to fostering a family-oriented culture that values equality, diversity, and inclusion. It embraces workplace accommodation and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, ensuring a welcoming environment for all team members. The organization offers dynamic career growth and leadership development opportunities with a focus on team support and community giving, such as the Panda Cares initiative.

Joining Panda Restaurant Group as a Kitchen Team Associate, you become part of a fast-paced, supportive, and friendly workplace. This role involves preparing and serving food with the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. Working as a Kitchen Team Associate means you will not only handle food preparation but also have the chance to interact directly with guests by greeting them, serving food, and operating the cash register at times. You will maintain the restaurant's cleanliness to ensure an exceptional dining atmosphere. This position requires the ability to adapt quickly in a busy kitchen environment, as you may be assigned duties at the front counter, drive-through, or inside the kitchen.

Panda provides comprehensive paid training regardless of prior experience, equipping new team members with the skills needed to succeed and grow within the organization. The company promotes from within, offering ongoing career and leadership development to advance into management positions. Pay ranges from $22 to $25 per hour, depending on location and experience, along with flexible schedules that accommodate employees' needs. Working at Panda also comes with great benefits such as free meals during shifts, medical, vision, and dental insurance for full-time associates, flexible spending accounts, 401K with company match, vacation and sick leave, and other perks like referral bonuses and associate discounts.

The work environment at Panda can be physically demanding. Team members must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work effectively amidst hot, noisy conditions. Safety standards and operational procedures are strictly followed to maintain food quality and employee well-being. Panda values team players who communicate effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and manage workplace challenges professionally. The company strongly supports equal opportunities and reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

This role is excellent for individuals seeking a vibrant work environment with opportunities to build skills, advance their careers in the restaurant industry, and contribute positively to their communities. Whether you have experience or are new to the field, Panda welcomes friendly, hardworking individuals who are committed to working as part of a team that feels like family. Joining Panda means more than a job—it means becoming part of a respected brand dedicated to quality, community, and employee growth.
