Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., established in 1983 and headquartered in Glendale, California, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,300 locations worldwide, Panda Restaurant Group continues to uphold its mission of delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a supportive and inspirational work environment. The company is deeply rooted in family values and committed to positively impacting both its team members and the communities in which it operates. Their Panda Cares initiative is a testament to this commitment, offering employees opportunities to contribute back to their neighborhoods and build meaningful connections beyond the workplace.
As a Kitchen Team Associate at Panda Restaurant Group, you will join a dynamic team focused on cooking delicious food and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness for guests. The role emphasizes a safe and supportive work environment where team members become friends and where there is always an opportunity to learn new skills, take on new challenges, and achieve career growth. Whether you have prior experience or not, Panda provides hands-on paid training to prepare you for success, supporting your growth into more advanced positions, including management roles. This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $17 to $20 per hour, with individual compensation determined by location and experience.
In this role, you will be an essential part of a fast-paced kitchen environment, often rotating between different positions such as the front counter, drive-through, or kitchen areas. Your daily responsibilities include greeting guests, serving food, handling payments, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and positive appearance of the store. Panda Restaurant Group prioritizes operational excellence and safety, requiring team members to follow established standards to deliver fresh, high-quality food consistently.
The position requires physical stamina to work in hot, busy kitchens where noise levels can be high and space may be limited. Employees must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and handle kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities are crucial, as well as managing difficult situations or conflicts with professionalism.
Panda Restaurant Group values diversity and inclusion and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The company does not discriminate on any legally protected characteristics and complies fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), offering workplace accommodations as needed to support qualified applicants and team members.
The benefits package for full-time Kitchen Team Associates includes flexible schedules, great pay, free meals during shifts, comprehensive medical, vision, dental, and voluntary short-term disability insurance, as well as cancer income protection. Additional offerings include Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, a 401K plan with company match, vacation and sick leave, bereavement and funeral leave, an associate discount program, referral bonuses, and ongoing career and leadership development opportunities. This comprehensive benefits package is designed to support the health, well-being, and career advancement of Panda employees, contributing to a rewarding and fulfilling work experience.
