Job Description

Currently, Coronado Brewing Company is seeking a self-motivated and responsible individual to take on the role of Culinary Team Leader at their San Diego Tasting Room and Kitchen Facility. This position is a non-exempt working management role compensated on an hourly basis, with pay ranging from $24.00 to $28.00 per hour depending on skill, experience, and demonstrated ability. The Culinary Team Leader will be responsible for supervising and leading the culinary team to ensure the preparation and delivery of high-quality food items, including specialty pizzas, salads, wraps, and hot and cold appetizers. The role requires a hands-on approach to management, requiring the individual to work alongside their team while providing guidance, coaching, and ensuring that company standards are upheld consistently.

Key responsibilities also include managing staffing levels to meet the demands of the business, delegating duties effectively, and maintaining professionalism within the workplace. The Culinary Team Leader must implement and oversee daily kitchen operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and vendor ordering. Scheduling duties involve using HotSchedules to create and maintain a weekly schedule aligned with the business's needs. The position demands flexibility to work nights, holidays, and weekends as required. This role is ideal for candidates with prior experience in a similar working environment, a passion for culinary excellence, and strong leadership skills. Candidates with Food Handler Certification will be preferred, emphasizing the importance of food safety and regulatory compliance in this role.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience preferred
  • minimum 5 years of line cooking experience preferred
  • food handler certification preferred
  • ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
