Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five years of professional experience related to the assigned work
  • Ability to pass full background check including CBI, fingerprinting, drug screening, and other checks
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Ability to travel to other facilities if required
  • Completion of DYS Pre-service Training Academy and Field Training Program
  • Compliance with safety and security protocols
  • Exposure to hazardous cleaning materials
  • Willingness to work during inclement weather
  • Disclosure of past disciplinary employment history if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five years of professional experience related to food services or occupational field
  • Two years of documented supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Experience with inventory and budget management
  • Ability to train and lead a diverse team
  • Familiarity with juvenile correctional facility operations is beneficial
  • Career Technical Education certification is a plus

Job Duties

  • Inventory management including forecasting, requisition, inspection, and storage of food and supplies
  • Supervision of food services staff including scheduling, performance reviews, hiring, orientation, and training
  • Ensuring sanitation procedures and food safety compliance are followed
  • Preparing meals in accordance with National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and DYS policies
  • Maintaining safety and security protocols within the food services environment
  • Participating in training sessions and attending meetings to stay updated on policies
  • Developing procedures to ensure regulatory and policy compliance and managing resources strategically
