Job Description
Our client is a dynamic establishment within the food and beverage industry, dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences through their commitment to quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and high standards, this organization prides itself on maintaining a clean, efficient, and welcoming environment, where every team member plays a key role in success. As a full-time, seasonal employer, they prioritize hiring individuals with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced kitchen setting. The company values flexibility and professionalism, expecting employees to contribute positively not just through their tasks but also their presentation and attitude, helping to elevate the team’s overall performance and guest experience.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher to join our Food and Beverage department and report directly to the Executive Chef. This non-exempt position offers a competitive pay range of 20 to 22 dollars an hour and requires candidates to hold a valid driver's license. The role is vital to the smooth operation of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishware, utensils, and kitchen areas remain spotless and well-organized. The successful candidate will follow a weekly cleaning schedule, operate the dish machine efficiently, and be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in both upper and lower kitchen zones. Additionally, the role involves assisting with banquet setup, trash removal, and general cleaning duties. The Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher will also be trusted to drive a work cart or trash truck daily to the dumpster area, highlighting the importance of physical endurance and attention to safety.
Flexibility is essential as the employee must be willing to participate in cross-training activities, including food preparation, thereby enhancing their skills and contributing more broadly to kitchen operations. This position demands strong teamwork, an exceptional attitude, and a proactive approach to workplace responsibilities. The role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking entry-level employment within the culinary industry, with a chance to grow through hands-on experience and multi-faceted involvement in kitchen duties.
This job requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items up to 100 pounds occasionally, and working in environments with wet, humid conditions and proximity to hot equipment like dish machines. The candidate must also be comfortable with exposure to cleaning chemicals and occasional outdoor weather conditions. Such requirements underscore the need for stamina, resilience, and adherence to safety protocols to maintain a safe, sanitary kitchen environment. Overall, this position is critical for maintaining the operational standards expected by both management and patrons, making the role of Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher indispensable to the organization.
