The Kitchen Staff position at Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is a pivotal role requiring versatility and dedication to uphold the company’s high standards in food preparation and service. The position involves assisting with the set-up of serving lines, ensuring all food items are maintained at appropriate temperatures, and aiding in the preparation of menu items according to established recipes and nutritional guidelines. Employees in this role handle several kitchen appliances, including slicers, mixers, and grinders, under proper certification protocols. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas is a critical aspect of the role, along with adhering to First In/First Out (FIFO) inventory procedures to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Additional responsibilities include monitoring chemical usage and maintaining dishwashing equipment, preparing baked goods, ensuring quality presentation, and providing excellent hospitality during food service. Compliance with food safety regulations such as HACCP, the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (HHFKA), and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) standards is mandatory. Kitchen staff members must keep accurate production records, observe safety protocols, and actively participate in required trainings and meetings. Administrative duties, including handling customer transactions, completing production paperwork, and reporting work hours via ADP, are also part of the daily tasks.
The position demands significant physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting objects up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally exerting force over 60 pounds. Good vision and coordination are essential to meet the role's demands. Educationally, candidates should ideally have a high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Strong communication, mathematical, and reasoning skills enable effective task execution and customer interaction.
