Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • valid driver's license meeting insurability requirements
  • one year of experience in similar food service roles
  • experience cooking in nursing homes, hospitals, or similar institutions preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare food and cook according to menus or dietary restrictions
  • clean, cut, and cook meat, fish, or poultry
  • bake bread, rolls, and pastries
  • wash and prepare fruits and vegetables
  • portion and serve food to residents, employees, or patrons
  • wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment
  • inspect, clean, and maintain kitchen and equipment
  • report safety issues promptly
  • ensure proper food storage
  • examine food quality and quantity
  • transport food to applicable sites as needed
