The role of Food Service Assistant at St. Francis Catholic Kindergarten & Nursery is a part-time position that plays an essential part in supporting the mission of the center. This candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and service of meals and snacks for young children while adhering to strict food safety regulations and childcare licensing requirements. The position demands dependability, organizational skills, and a service-oriented attitude, ensuring that each meal is served in a clean, safe, and nurturing environment. The Food Service Assistant also contributes to maintaining a warm atmosphere for children and staff by demonstrating courtesy, patience, and respect throughout their duties.

This role requires close collaboration with the childcare staff and adherence to guidelines outlined by multiple governing bodies, including the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), the Diocese of Austin, Health and Human Services, and the local Health Department. Responsibilities include preparing lunches and snacks, maintaining accurate food production records, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and managing kitchen cleanliness and sanitation. The candidate must be attentive to detail in monitoring expiration dates, managing inventory, and supporting supply ordering processes.
