Job Description

The role is focused on the efficient operation of the dish area within a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a key member of the food service team, this position is responsible for maintaining clean dishes, operating and troubleshooting dishwashing machinery, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the dishwasher area. This includes tasks such as preparing and loading dish racks correctly, inspecting dishes for cleanliness, and managing trash disposal and floor maintenance. Though the position is nonsupervisory, it plays a crucial supportive role in assisting culinarians with minor food prep duties like vegetable dicing and minor baking assistance, emphasizing the collaborative team effort required to maintain smooth kitchen operations.

Additionally, the role requires flexibility to assist with other duties as requested, such as restocking napkin holders, filling condiment containers during shifts, and potentially working at various venues based on business needs. Compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards is essential, alongside maintaining a personable and professional attitude when interacting with coworkers, vendors, and customers alike. The position emphasizes technical expertise in machinery operation, problem solving in a dynamic environment, effective communication, and personal credibility, aligning with the company’s commitment to quality and flexibility.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • previous food service or kitchen experience preferred
  • food safe certification or ability to pass certification
  • excellent communication skills
  • pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
  • pass criminal background check
  • current Colorado driver’s license
  • maintain current automobile insurance if driving for company
  • basic computer skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • maintain sanitary conditions
  • free of communicable diseases
  • comply with fire, health, safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one year of food service or kitchen porter experience preferred
  • food safe certification or ability to obtain certification
  • knowledge of food service preparation preferred
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to interact effectively with customers and coworkers
  • basic computer skills including email
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • current Colorado driver’s license and driving record compliant with company policy
  • immunizations up to date including TB test within first 7 days

Job Duties
