Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of food preparation or related experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of 1 year of food preparation or related experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience working with inmates is a plus
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines
  • Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team

  • Familiarity with inventory management and kitchen equipment maintenance

Job Duties

  • Follow and uphold Aramark standards for food preparation and production
  • Review and approve production and temperature records
  • Supervise inmates during food preparation and tray assembly
  • Ensure meals are served promptly and efficiently in accordance with Aramark standards
  • Participate in food preparation and service
  • Print and distribute recipes while ensuring proper portion control and accommodation of special dietary needs
  • Ensure all food items are stored safely and organized in a hazard-free environment
  • Adhere to security procedures and ensure storage areas remain locked at all times
  • Ensure all kitchen tools, equipment, and keys are returned to designated secure locations
  • Create and manage schedules for cooks, inmates, and food service workers, including sanitation routines
  • Supervise and evaluate staff performance to promote teamwork, efficiency, and professional growth
  • Assist with inventory management, including the proper receiving and storage of food and food-related items
  • Process requisitions as needed and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Maintain logs for kitchen equipment upkeep and perform preventative maintenance
  • Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure safe food handling and storage
  • Ensure all food safety and temperature logs are completed accurately and take corrective action when necessary
  • Participate in meal preparation, storage, and assembly according to the 5 P’s (Participation, Pulls, Production, Portion Control, and Postproduction)
