Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service or kitchen management preferred
  • Must complete sanitation course before or during first year
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to train and mentor staff
  • Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Flexible to fill in for absent employees as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions
  • Completion or commitment to complete a sanitation course within first year
  • Knowledge of operating efficient and cost-effective food service programs
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in supervising or managing food service staff preferred

Job Duties

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production packets
  • Direct daily kitchen activities
  • Maintain food production ensuring safety and quality compliance
  • Ensure safe storage of food items in an organized and hazard-free environment
  • Maintain serving schedules and ensure compliance with menu specifications
  • Keep the department sanitary according to health and safety codes
  • Maintain and monitor accurate weekly inventory
  • Prepare orders to ensure accurate location production
  • Supervise, evaluate, and counsel employees to promote growth and morale
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Train and mentor food service workers
  • Maintain equipment maintenance logs
  • Complete food safety and temperature logs with corrective action as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Recommend equipment replacement
  • Multi-task effectively
  • Fill in for absent employees
  • Oversee daily catering event preparations and delivery
  • Work occasional night and weekend catered events
  • Attend food service staff meetings
  • Maintain communication with staff and office personnel
  • Perform cashier duties as needed
  • Promote good public relations
