Job Description
Flanigan's is a well-established restaurant known for its vibrant atmosphere and commitment to quality in the culinary industry. Catering to a diverse clientele, Flanigan's prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences with a focus on fresh ingredients, dynamic menus, and excellent customer service. With multiple locations, the company maintains a strong presence in its markets by fostering a culture of teamwork and professional growth among its employees. Flanigan's operates seven days a week and is dedicated to supporting its staff through comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation structures. The Kitchen Manager position at Flanigan's holds a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of the back-of-house functions while leading a high-performing team of cooks and support staff. In this role, the Kitchen Manager acts as the captain of the kitchen, taking charge of all aspects of the kitchen's operations, from ordering and receiving inventory to food preparation, service coordination, cleaning, and closing procedures. This leadership role demands a balance of culinary skills, organizational expertise, and communication proficiency to manage the twists and turns of kitchen operations effectively. Candidates applying for this position should expect to work up to 30 miles from their initially applied restaurant location, offering flexibility and broad operational support across multiple sites. The role involves direct communication with management throughout the day, ensuring vital information is logged and shared effectively, and adherence to policies and quality standards is maintained. Attendance at weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings is required to stay aligned with company goals, updates, and staff performance evaluations. The Kitchen Manager is also responsible for supervising employees, conducting both positive and negative performance evaluations regularly, and fostering a culture of responsibility and ownership within the kitchen staff. This comprehensive management responsibility provides opportunities for growth and advancement, rewarding dedication and performance rather than tenure. The position demands a strong grasp of Florida State health code standards, stringent quality control over recipes and ingredients, and the enforcement of cleanliness and safety standards. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and be active for long periods, with necessary mobility and stamina to work extended hours, including lifting, bending, and operating kitchen equipment proficiently. Scheduling flexibility is critical, as the restaurant operates every day of the year, and the workweek consists of five days with 50-55 hours per week, including two consecutive days off generally falling on weekdays. Vacations are scheduled specifically between April and November, emphasizing the importance of planning and adhering to company policies. Flanigan's provides a competitive starting salary along with health insurance options, a 401K retirement plan with immediate eligibility, paid vacation time increasing with tenure, personal days, and free shift meals, supporting employee well-being and satisfaction. This role is ideal for passionate culinary professionals who enjoy leading a team, take pride in the quality and cleanliness of their work environment, and are eager to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced restaurant setting.
