The lodge emphasizes personalized care, community engagement, and the overall well-being of its residents, making it a trusted name in senior living services in the region. Their commitment to excellence extends to all areas, including healthcare, leisure, nutrition, and daily living assistance, ensuring that every resident receives tailored attention and support according to their individual needs and preferences.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Kitchen Manager to join the team at New Horizon Lodge, specifically filling the role of Head Cook. This is a full-time, wage-earning position that offers a $500 sign-on bonus to qualified candidates as a gesture of welcome and appreciation for joining the team. The Kitchen Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the nutritional standards of the dining services provided to our residents. They will be directly responsible for preparing and serving meals that meet the dietary requirements and preferences of the elderly community, many of whom may have special needs including texture-modified diets.

The Head Cook will be an integral part of the facility, overseeing food preparation, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, managing kitchen inventory and budgets, and supervising kitchen staff such as aides. This role demands a strong understanding of meal planning in an assisted living environment, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. The ideal candidate will not only meet the mandatory qualifications such as passing a DOJ FBI live scan criminal background check and pre-employment physical and drug screening but will also have experience or familiarity with the assisted living setting. Flexible scheduling, including the availability to work weekends and holidays, is required to ensure continuous, high-quality food service.

Additional responsibilities include training new staff on kitchen protocols, implementing improvements to service delivery, maintaining cleanliness and maintenance standards for kitchen equipment, and actively participating in monthly staff meetings and training sessions. The successful Kitchen Manager must be knowledgeable about each resident’s dietary likes, dislikes, and health restrictions to provide personalized meal services that enhance resident satisfaction and well-being.

New Horizon Lodge supports its employees through comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, voluntary supplemental insurance plans through AFLAC, and offers competitive wages, paid training, growth opportunities, as well as bonus and incentive programs. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting their applications or walking in during business hours at the Human Resources office or the New Horizon Senior Living facility. This opportunity represents a fulfilling career path within a reputable assisted living provider committed to making a positive impact in the lives of seniors and their families.
