The Kitchen Manager Floater role is tailored for dynamic, adaptable professionals with a passion for leadership in food service. As a Kitchen Manager Floater, you will travel between several school sites, providing critical management and operational support to cafeteria teams wherever needed. This role requires the ability to seamlessly step into different kitchens, manage food preparation processes, supervise staff, and maintain safety and sanitation standards with minimal notice. You will be pivotal in executing daily food service functions that uphold quality and compliance with nutrition and safety guidelines.

A successful candidate in this position will have a background in kitchen management or food service, coupled with strong organizational and communication skills. Your responsibilities include monitoring inventory, ensuring accurate documentation, enforcing ServSafe and HACCP regulations, and managing labor resources effectively. You will also serve as a point of contact during float assignments and play a vital role in sustaining a positive work culture across various teams and locations. Job Qualifications

  • experience with POS systems and basic computer literacy preferred

Job Duties

  • Travel between school sites to provide leadership and support for kitchen operations
  • oversee food production, service quality, and safety standards
  • train and supervise kitchen staff on recipes, sanitation, and safe equipment use
  • ensure cleanliness of all kitchen areas and maintain equipment
  • complete required documentation and reports accurately and on time
  • manage inventory, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies at each site
  • monitor labor and adjust schedules to meet coverage and cost goals
  • enforce ServSafe, HACCP, and child nutrition program regulations
  • maintain accurate temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and safety checklists
  • ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed
  • act as the site lead and point of contact during float assignments
  • support and maintain a positive culture across teams and schools
  • submit reports and complete administrative tasks as required
  • perform other duties as assigned to support school food service
