Job Description
DoorDash is a leading technology and logistics company dedicated to empowering local economies by connecting people to the products and services they need. Originally known for its door-to-door food delivery services, DoorDash has rapidly expanded its offerings to include a broad range of goods beyond just food. The company is characterized by its fast-paced, innovative culture where team members are encouraged to take ownership, collaborate across functions, and drive impactful changes that improve the experience for Dashers, merchant partners, and consumers alike. DoorDash places a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion, hiring people from diverse backgrounds and experiences to foster innovation and growth. They provide comprehensive benefits and support to ensure the well-being of their employees.
The role of Kitchen Manager for DashMart Kitchens (DMK) is an exciting opportunity within DoorDash’s rapidly growing DashMart business, which focuses on scaling a new kind of restaurant platform. DashMart Kitchens operates as an in-house food preparation facility within DashMart fulfillment centers, offering a wide selection of prepared foods and popular restaurant staples directly to customers. As a Kitchen Manager, you will lead the kitchen operations at a DoorDash-owned site, directing cooking teams and shift leads to ensure that every meal is produced safely, efficiently, and to top quality standards. This includes managing staffing, scheduling, and overall kitchen performance while adhering to stringent food safety and inventory controls.
Additionally, the Kitchen Manager role requires cross-training in DashMart fulfillment operations, as you will be expected to work in various parts of the business, contributing to both kitchens and fulfillment centers. The role is highly hands-on and involves fast-paced leadership with a focus on continuous improvement, quality assurance, and team development. You will collaborate closely with Site Managers and other cross-functional teams to launch new food concepts, refine processes, and ensure excellent customer experience. This position expects a high level of responsibility and commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
Ideal candidates are passionate about culinary leadership, operational excellence, creative problem solving, and fostering a positive work culture. You will have the chance to impact the growth of a pioneering delivery-only kitchen model, develop your skills in a startup-style environment, and play a vital role in enhancing DoorDash’s food program. The position offers a competitive salary range of $56,200 to $82,700 USD annually, depending on skills, experience, and work location. DoorDash also provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision plans, paid parental leave, wellness benefits, paid time off, and more. This role requires flexible availability including late nights and weekends, aligning with the 24/7 nature of food fulfillment services and operations.
Joining DoorDash means becoming part of a company committed to innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and being empowered to help shape the future of food delivery and fulfillment at scale. The company values individual contributions and provides an environment where employees can grow their careers, take on new challenges, and make lasting impacts.
