DoorDash is a leading technology and logistics company that has revolutionized the way consumers receive goods and food. Starting as a platform enabling door-to-door food delivery, DoorDash is rapidly evolving to become the go-to source for any and all products. With a strong commitment to empowering local economies, DoorDash combines innovation with a dedication to providing outstanding service to its diverse users, including Dashers, merchant partners, and customers nationwide. The company is recognized for its dynamic, fast-paced work environment that encourages team members to share ideas, embrace change, and advance their careers. In addition to technological innovation, DoorDash places significant emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering an environment where all employees feel valued and have access to the resources necessary to succeed. Comprehensive benefits including premium healthcare, wellness reimbursements, and paid parental leave exemplify DoorDash’s commitment to employee well-being.
The role of Kitchen Manager for DashMart Kitchens (DMK) situates you at the heart of DoorDash's next major venture—scaling DashMart, the in-house food program designed to offer prepared meals and popular restaurant staples directly from kitchens located within DashMart fulfillment centers. As a Kitchen Manager, you will lead daily operations within a DoorDash-owned kitchen, ensuring that every meal is prepared to the highest standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. Tasked with supervising a team comprising operations associates and shift leads, you will oversee both culinary execution and operational management. Your responsibilities will include staff hiring, scheduling, coaching, and maintaining a safe and inclusive workplace culture.
This unique position calls for a hands-on leader who blends culinary expertise with operational savvy. The Kitchen Manager will also be cross-trained in DashMart's broader fulfillment operations, providing a holistic understanding of order flow and site metrics like accuracy and efficiency. A key part of the role involves maintaining strict compliance with food safety protocols and inventory controls, key to guarding the integrity and safety of this fast-moving kitchen operation. You will work very closely with your Site Manager to strategize on improving processes, leading multiple food concepts, and executing new initiatives.
Success in this role means not only managing but inspiring your team to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment where innovation and rapid adaptation are critical. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex problems creatively and uses data-driven insights to refine processes and enhance kitchen performance. This managerial role also requires flexibility, with expectations to work late-night shifts and weekends to ensure smooth operation and team support. By embracing this diverse set of challenges, you position yourself at the forefront of a transformative business model redefining how food is prepared and delivered in the digital age.
