The company prides itself on its commitment to Project E.A.T: Elegant, Accessible, and Transparent food choices, reflecting a passion for elevating the coffee cafe dining experience. As a respected name in the specialty coffee industry, Stone Creek Coffee aims to foster inclusive work environments where diversity is celebrated and all employees feel valued and empowered.

The role of Kitchen Manager at Stone Creek Coffee is pivotal in ensuring the successful operation of the Downe Kitchen Team. This full-time, salaried position serves as the primary administrative and leadership presence within the kitchen, responsible for maintaining a strong and healthy team culture, managing kitchen financials, and ensuring exceptional operational performance. Kitchen Managers often begin their tenure as Kitchen Managers in Training, where comprehensive paid training equips them with essential skills in kitchen operations and leadership.

The position emphasizes a holistic approach to team management, encompassing recruiting, scheduling, financial oversight, and maintaining rigorous food safety and cleanliness standards. The Kitchen Manager plays a hands-on role in daily kitchen operations while simultaneously executing administrative tasks such as budget tracking and inventory management. This unique blend of responsibilities enables the Kitchen Manager to influence both the immediate experience of team members and customers and the long-term financial health of the kitchen.

Key elements of the Kitchen Manager role include overseeing kitchen labor to meet budget goals, ensuring the team is adequately staffed and motivated, managing product ordering with a focus on cost-effective sourcing, and coordinating the launch of new menu items. The role demands excellent communication skills to handle performance discussions, provide constructive feedback, and build development plans for team members. Strong operational awareness is essential, with the Kitchen Manager expected to recognize and address risks proactively and maintain compliance with local health and safety regulations including FDA guidelines.

Stone Creek Coffee offers a comprehensive benefits package with competitive compensation, starting respectively at $16 per hour for Kitchen Manager Trainees plus tips and moving to a salaried range between $45,000-$50,000 upon successful completion of training. Benefits include a 401(k) retirement plan, health, vision, and dental insurance, a Health Spending Account stipend, paid time off encompassing vacation, sick days, volunteer time, and mental health days, as well as employee discounts and complimentary coffee during shifts. Moreover, Stone Creek Coffee invests in continuous learning by providing ongoing training opportunities beyond the initial Kitchen Manager training program.

This role provides rich professional growth opportunities in leadership, financial acumen, operational efficiency, and communication within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, use kitchen equipment safely, and work in varying temperature conditions. Stone Creek Coffee strongly encourages candidates from underrepresented groups to apply, reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity and equal employment opportunity.
