This full-time role, requiring 45-50 hours per week, includes a mixed schedule of AM and PM shifts with necessary availability on weekends and holidays. The Kitchen Manager / Lead Chef will oversee the creative aspects of menu development, recipe execution, and plating presentation, ensuring every dish meets the restaurant’s high standards for quality, consistency, and authenticity. At the same time, the role demands attentiveness to operational management, including staff supervision, scheduling, inventory control, ordering, compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining overall kitchen organization and cleanliness that supports a smooth and profitable operation.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in kitchen supervision or culinary management
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and health standards
- Ability to lead and manage a diverse team
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- Excellent communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as kitchen supervisor with management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Bilingual Spanish speaking a plus
Job Duties
- Oversee and actively participate in daily food preparation and service
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes
- Monitor line setup, execution, and plate presentation during service
- Organize and maintain walk-ins, prep areas, and kitchen stations
- Manage inventory of food, supplies, and prepared items
- Place and track orders with food and supply vendors
- Receive and check in deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy
- Supervise and support all kitchen personnel across AM and PM shifts
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff
- Take ownership of team performance and accountability
- Oversee cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
- Ensure proper cleaning of BOH areas and applicable FOH spaces
- Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times
- Assist with scheduling, labor management, and performance tracking
- Take on increasing administrative responsibilities as the role evolves
- Support systems that improve efficiency, consistency, and profitability
- Establish clear and consistent communication between BOH and FOH
- Collaborate with managers, servers, bussers, and expos to ensure smooth service
