The Kitchen Manager role at Uncle Julio's is a pivotal position responsible for leading back-of-house operations to ensure food quality, safety, and efficiency at all times. This role requires a leader who can inspire and support the kitchen team, maintain rigorous safety and sanitation standards, and drive operational excellence while contributing to an outstanding guest experience. The Kitchen Manager will oversee daily kitchen activities, manage inventory, support team development through training, and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Availability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends
  • Able to withstand physical demands of a restaurant environment
  • Experience in restaurant kitchen management
  • Ability to meet state-required certifications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Leadership experience

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the casual restaurant industry
  • Proficiency in POS systems
  • Current alcohol and food certifications that meet state requirements
  • Formal culinary training preferred
  • Ability to verbally communicate in Spanish
  • Strong knowledge of team leadership and conflict resolution
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage back-of-house kitchen operations
  • Maintain high standards of food quality and safety
  • Support and develop kitchen staff through training and leadership
  • Monitor and manage inventory and ordering
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
  • Resolve conflicts and promote a positive work environment
