We are currently seeking a motivated Kitchen Manager to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will assist the Executive Chef in the overall operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth food preparation processes, maintaining quality control, managing inventory, and overseeing the physical maintenance of kitchen facilities. This full-time position is ideal for candidates who are natural leaders with prior supervisory experience, especially in high-volume cooking settings. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while fostering a positive and productive team atmosphere. Candidates must be passionate about delivering quality food that exceeds standards and creates extraordinary dining experiences.
The successful candidate will have a ServeSafe or Food Handler's certification and possess strong organizational skills. Your responsibilities will include preparing and cooking various types of foods regularly or for special events, managing staffing needs by planning, assigning work, and setting performance goals for team members. You will also educate and train staff to adhere to federal, state, and local safety regulations, control budgets with a focus on food, labor, and supply expenses, and ensure all food products meet quality standards. Moreover, you will actively perform kitchen duties as needed, maintain company and brand standards, ensure security and proper storage of food and beverages, and manage inventory effectively to minimize waste. Job Requirements
- Some college and/or advanced training in food and beverage management
- At least 2 years of related experience including supervisory experience
- ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification or willingness to obtain
- Advanced knowledge of food service regulations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in extreme temperature environments
- Ability to use hand tools or machines required for the role
- Physical ability to lift, carry, or pull heavy objects
Job Qualifications
- Some college and/or advanced training in food and beverage management plus 2 years of related experience, including supervisory experience
- ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification, or willingness to obtain
- Must have advanced knowledge of food service regulations
- Must be organized, skilled with time management, and efficient in hot and cold line production
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per shift in an environment with extreme temperatures
- Skilled with the use of hand tools or machines needed for the position
- Able to lift, carry, or pull heavy objects
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions
- Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, including planning and assigning work and establishing performance and development goals for team members
- Educate and train all team members in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations
- Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on food, supplies, and labor costs
- Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
- Perform all duties of kitchen managers and employees as necessary
- Achieve and maintain company and brand standards for quality and guest satisfaction
- Ensure security and proper storage of food and beverage products, inventory and equipment and replenish supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste
