Job Description

Chick-fil-A West Tyler is a new franchise location, independently owned and operated by T. J. St. Romain. Chick-fil-A, Inc. is a family-owned and privately held restaurant company founded in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy. The role of Shift Lead at Chick-fil-A West Tyler is critical in ensuring smooth day-to-day restaurant operations. The position involves rotating shifts, including opening, mid-shift, and closing duties. The Shift Lead acts as a key holder who manages and leads the team throughout their shift, maintaining operational standards, and providing exceptional hospitality to guests. This includes coaching, teaching, and training team members to adhere to company policies and create a positive work environment.

The Shift Lead is responsible for delivering excellent customer service by overseeing order taking, handling payments, making drinks and desserts, and ensuring guest satisfaction at all times. Additionally, the role entails maintaining cleanliness in the work areas, dining room, restrooms, parking lot, and playground to meet company standards. Shift Leads also manage inventory by stocking sauces, cups, lids, and other essentials to keep the restaurant well-supplied.

Food safety and cleanliness are paramount while working in this role, requiring strict adherence to food safety regulations and restaurant policies. The Shift Lead plays an active role in maintaining these standards during every shift. Moreover, the job involves making occasional deliveries and addressing any immediate guest concerns professionally and respectfully.

Applicants should be prepared to work various shifts, including weekends, with special consideration for time-off requests. The role demands excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong work ethic. Previous restaurant management or leadership experience is preferred, and while experience at Chick-fil-A is a plus, it is not required. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have at least one-year previous restaurant management or leadership experience is preferred
  • Must have restaurant experience
  • Be hard-working, team-oriented, friendly, honest and have great customer service skills
  • Reliable transportation with a current driver's license is required
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Be available to work any time including Saturdays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one-year previous restaurant management or leadership experience is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Chick-fil-A experience a plus, but not required
  • Must have restaurant experience

Job Duties

  • Serving guests by taking orders, handling cash and credit cards, making drinks and desserts by offering an immediate and respectful response to all guest's needs
  • Delivering meals to guests at their table or to a designated pick up area, and providing excellent customer service at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness of your work area and the dining room, parking lot, restrooms and playground
  • Stock sauces, cups, lids, etc. as needed to maintain throughout your shift
  • Effectively manage and lead a team of people serving our guests while maintaining our operating standards to provide the best hospitality and guest experience
  • Making deliveries
  • Coaching, teaching and training team members on policies and procedures and creating a positive work environment for everyone
  • Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards
  • Open and/or close the restaurant leading the shift as a key holder
