Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or similar role in the restaurant industry
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience and training
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen equipment, and sanitation standards
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse team
- Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Proficient in restaurant management software and other relevant kitchen operational software
Job Duties
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with recipes, preparation methods, and presentation standards
- Lead and supervise the kitchen staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management
- Develop and maintain a positive and professional working environment within the kitchen
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs while minimizing waste
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to develop menus, create new dishes, and ensure customer satisfaction
- Address and resolve any issues or complaints regarding food quality or preparation
- Monitor equipment maintenance and repair, ensuring all kitchen appliances are in good working order
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals as needed, especially during peak times
- Analyze customer feedback and make necessary adjustments to improve the quality and consistency of dishes
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, provide feedback, and discuss operational improvements
