We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Kitchen Manager to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of the back-of-house restaurant functions. As the Kitchen Manager, you will oversee all kitchen activities to maintain the highest standards set by Native Grill & Wings. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will take charge of managing hourly back-of-house staff, conducting training sessions, enforcing food safety procedures, and ensuring that every dish that leaves the kitchen meets our rigorous quality and presentation standards. You will play a vital role in managing inventory, food costs, and scheduling to ensure operational efficiency. This leadership position requires someone who thrives in a busy environment, has a knack for motivating teams, and a clear focus on operational excellence.

The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for hiring and evaluating kitchen staff, guiding them towards their professional growth while maintaining a positive and productive work atmosphere. You will be expected to monitor food preparation processes closely, conducting regular quality checks such as line taste and temperature assessments to uphold our commitment to food safety and guest satisfaction. Security within the kitchen and safety protocols are also under your purview to protect both employees and guests. With open availability and the willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays, you will ensure that the kitchen operates seamlessly during peak hours and special events. Job Requirements

  • Open availability including nights weekends and holidays
  • Ability to manage and lead kitchen staff effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must comply with food safety standards and procedures
  • Experience with conducting employee evaluations and coaching
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform kitchen duties
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including busy shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Proven managerial experience in a kitchen or food service environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with inventory management and food cost control
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in scheduling and employee training

Job Duties

  • Manage hourly back of house employees including conducting performance evaluations coaching and discipline
  • Review applications interviewing and hiring back of house employees
  • Direct work for employees including setting hours and weekly schedules and assigning tasks before during and after open hours of the restaurant
  • Do food orders according to pars
  • Provide direct and schedule back of house training
  • Supervise and oversee the production and preparation of food in a manner consistent with established recipes and procedures
  • Plate dishes according to Native Grill & Wings plate presentations
  • Conduct formal line taste and temperature checks
  • Enforce appropriate security measures at the restaurant to maintain safety of employees and guests
  • Manage food costs by conducting bi-weekly inventory
  • Understand manage and practice safe food handling procedures
  • Maintain a positive consistent open working environment
