We are currently seeking a full-time Kitchen Manager to join our dynamic Taproom Operations team at this energetic location. This non-exempt position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and offers an attractive compensation range of $70,000 to $85,000 annually. The Kitchen Manager will play a critical role in maintaining and elevating the culinary operations by bringing structure, accountability, and positive leadership to the kitchen. This role requires close collaboration with taproom leadership and regional operations to shape memorable guest experiences. The Kitchen Manager's responsibilities include overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure cleanliness and adherence to Fieldwork Brewing's high standards, managing inventory and vendor relations, and ensuring food cost controls are maintained. This position also involves hiring, training, coaching, and leading kitchen staff to uphold consistency and quality in food preparation and presentation. A hands-on approach is essential, where the manager is comfortable working alongside the team to meet the fast-paced demands of the location, particularly during special events and high-volume game days. The Kitchen Manager must ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, including accurate record-keeping through required logs and procedures. Additional duties include workforce scheduling, labor forecasting, recipe adherence, performance management, and troubleshooting kitchen equipment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of kitchen leadership or management experience in a high-volume culinary environment
- Experience with kitchen equipment including combi ovens flat tops and fryers
- Proven leadership skills with experience in team motivation and retention
- Knowledge of food cost management labor scheduling and inventory control
- Ability to work hands-on alongside kitchen staff
- Strong organizational and operational abilities
- Working knowledge of food safety regulations and health codes
- California Food Manager Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Spanish language skills preferred but not required
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years of kitchen leadership or management experience brewery pizzeria or high-volume restaurant preferred
- Experience with kitchen equipment specifically combi oven flat top plancha fryer
- Proven ability to lead motivate and retain kitchen teams
- Strong understanding of food cost labor management and inventory control
- Comfortable working the line and leading by example
- Organized and operationally focused
- Working knowledge of food safety sanitation and California health code requirements
- California Food Manager Certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Spanish language skills are a plus but not required
Job Duties
- Oversee kitchen operations ensuring consistency cleanliness and adherence to Fieldwork standards
- Hire train coach and develop line cooks and dishwashers with clear expectations and active leadership
- Execute food preparation and service with emphasis on quality timing and presentation
- Manage inventory vendor relationships and food cost controls
- Maintain compliance with health safety and sanitation standards including required logs and procedures
- Work with the General Manager and Regional Kitchen Manager on labor forecasting scheduling and financial targets
- Ensure recipe adherence portion control and consistent menu execution
- Conduct performance check-ins evaluations and provide corrective coaching when necessary
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or maintenance with vendors
- Assist with special events high-volume game days and company initiatives
