Job Description

DoorDash is a leading technology and logistics company dedicated to empowering local economies by enabling door-to-door delivery services. Originally renowned for its food delivery platform, DoorDash has rapidly evolved to become a trusted source for delivering a wide range of goods to customers' doorsteps. The company emphasizes innovation, agility, and empathy from its team members to serve a diverse base of users including Dashers, merchant partners, and consumers. DoorDash is experiencing significant growth and transformation, offering employees unique opportunities to share ideas, solve complex challenges, and advance their careers while benefiting from comprehensive healthcare, wellness programs, and paid parental leave. The company also strongly believes in fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment that encourages different perspectives and backgrounds to drive true innovation and success.

The role of Assistant Site Manager (ASM) for DashMart Kitchens (DMK) is a pivotal leadership position within DoorDash’s rapidly expanding in-house food program under the DashMart fulfillment centers. DashMart Kitchens serves as a new kind of restaurant platform that brings various prepared foods and popular restaurant staples directly to customers through delivery-only kitchens. As the ASM, you will lead the daily operations of a DoorDash-owned kitchen at a DashMart fulfillment site, managing a team of kitchen associates and shift leads to ensure meals are prepared accurately, safely, and efficiently. This role combines hands-on culinary expertise with operational management by overseeing staffing, scheduling, kitchen performance, food safety, and order accuracy.

The ASM role requires strong operational discipline and leadership acumen, as you will work closely with the Site Manager to lead multiple food concepts, enhance operational processes, and cultivate a positive and safe workspace. You will also be cross-trained in DashMart fulfillment operations, allowing you to flex between kitchen and fulfillment responsibilities, thus gaining a comprehensive understanding of how culinary execution affects overall site metrics like quality, accuracy, and efficiency. Duties include hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing team members while instilling a safety-first and inclusive culture. The ASM drives performance through effective scheduling, inventory control, recipe adherence, and collaborative problem-solving with cross-functional teams. The position demands a focus on food safety certification, inventory management systems knowledge, and the ability to navigate a dynamic, startup-like environment.

Candidates excited about this opportunity typically enjoy learning how complex operations interconnect, have a passion for food and leadership, and thrive in fast-paced, hands-on roles. They demonstrate creativity in process-building and problem-solving and seek significant growth within delivery-only kitchen operations. This position is ideal for leaders who enjoy motivating teams of five or more, managing detailed operations, and collaborating across multiple business aspects to ensure consistently high-quality food delivery and customer satisfaction. Late-night and weekend hours are regularly scheduled, reflecting the operational needs of the fulfillment center. Overall, this role offers a chance to be a key contributor to DoorDash's vision of transforming the customer delivery experience while supporting an inclusive and dynamic workplace culture.
