Job Description

Our company is a dedicated provider of nutritional meal services focused on enhancing student health and well-being in educational environments. As a key player in school nutrition, we are committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and nutritious meals that support academic success and foster healthy eating habits. We collaborate with schools to manage cafeteria operations efficiently and ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and regulatory requirements. Our mission is to make a positive impact on children’s lives by providing meals that are not only nutritious but also appealing and satisfying.

We are currently seeking a Kitchen Manager to take the helm of our school cafeteria’s daily food service operations. This is a full-time role, typically scheduled Monday through Friday, with occasional extended weeks as necessary. The position offers the opportunity to lead a team, manage the complexities of cafeteria operations, and contribute directly to the well-being of hundreds of students every day. The Kitchen Manager’s role demands both leadership and hands-on involvement in facilitating smooth, safe, and efficient kitchen processes.

As a Kitchen Manager, you will oversee all phases of food preparation and service, ensuring that quality standards, safety regulations, and portion controls are strictly followed. Your leadership will extend to training and supervising kitchen staff on food safety protocols, sanitation procedures, proper equipment use, and recipe preparation. Managing inventory accurately to ensure adequate supplies while controlling costs will be a critical component of your responsibilities. Additionally, your role will involve maintaining kitchen cleanliness and equipment upkeep while enforcing compliance with federal, state, and company policies related to food service operations.

Your daily tasks will also include preparing paperwork such as reports, schedules, and inventory logs, maintaining accurate temperature and cleaning records, and applying appropriate cash handling and reconciliation practices. You will be responsible for managing labor in alignment with staffing needs and budget considerations, conducting fair and consistent performance evaluations, and acting as the on-site leader ensuring the cafeteria operates smoothly and meets all regulatory requirements.

This position requires a blend of organizational skills, leadership experience, and a passion for providing excellent food service. Being comfortable working in a school environment and interacting with children is essential, along with having reliable transportation. Candidates should be able to stand for full shifts, perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen atmosphere.

Joining our team means becoming part of a mission-driven organization that values quality, safety, and community impact. We encourage individuals who are motivated by service, leadership opportunities, and making a difference in school nutrition to apply. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We also participate in the E-Verify Employment Eligibility Program to ensure legal compliance in our hiring processes. This Kitchen Manager role is a critical position that offers both professional growth and a chance to positively influence the health of future generations.
