The role of Kitchen Manager at Applebee's is a critical position responsible for overseeing all back-of-house operations within the restaurant. This role involves managing the activities of hourly kitchen staff to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and adherence to food safety standards. The Kitchen Manager ensures that all food products are made from scratch according to specific recipes and quality guidelines. Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years of management experience in the restaurant, entertainment or hospitality industry
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • responsible alcohol service and food safety certifications as required
  • kitchen managers must have current alcohol and food certification that meets state requirements
  • this position requires you to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 12 hours in length and be able to lift 25-50 pounds

Job Duties

  • direct the activities of back of the house hourly associates ensuring cleanliness and sanitation
  • implement purchasing and cost controls
  • follow up with corrective action where needed
  • ensure made from scratch food is made to specification
  • perform administrative and accounting duties according to company policy
  • maintain responsible alcohol service and food safety certification compliance
  • assign other duties as needed
