Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • ServSafe restaurant manager certification
  • experience managing a kitchen or food service operation
  • knowledge of health and safety kitchen protocols
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals alongside the kitchen team
  • supervise kitchen operations and ensure smooth shift transitions
  • plan and maintain a monthly menu based on nutritional guidelines and resident needs
  • ensure meals are culturally appropriate, allergy-safe, and meet dietary restrictions
  • manage food safety, kitchen sanitation, and cleanliness of all cooking and storage areas
  • receive and store food items per health and safety standards
  • monitor and maintain food inventory
  • conduct weekly inventory assessments
  • secure and maintain proper handling of equipment, chemicals, and sharp tools
  • coordinate with shelter and treatment center staff to align meals with programming needs
  • train, support, and supervise kitchen staff
  • foster a positive and productive kitchen culture
  • model professional behavior and promote teamwork
  • report critical incidents immediately to site manager and/or regional director
  • collect data necessary to meet funding requirements and statistical reports
