Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years experience in similar kitchen operations
  • Ability to lead and supervise a kitchen team
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and resolve issues
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend instructions and policy documents

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal certification in cooking preferred
  • Brand certification is a plus
  • 2 or more years of experience in medium volume or multi-unit kitchen operations
  • 3 or more years of experience preferred
  • Knowledge of product, customer service, quality standards, equipment, and operations
  • Strong team management, delegation, coaching, and motivation skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-project management abilities
  • Effective communication skills including reading, writing, and conversing comfortably

Job Duties

  • Ensure kitchen is staffed appropriately and kitchen cleanliness is maintained daily
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure all kitchen equipment is functioning properly
  • Supervise daily activities of kitchen staff and assign responsibilities
  • Continuously monitor and update prep, par, and pull sheets
  • Train cooks and prep cooks on culinary standards and safety
  • Enforce recipe compliance and complete self-inspection reports
  • Ensure expediting is performed correctly and maintain planograms for walk-ins
  • Identify needs related to hiring, firing, advancement, and promotion of kitchen staff
  • Comply with company, franchise, and regulatory standards and ensure food preparation and presentation meet brand standards
  • Provide high-quality customer service and training to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality
