Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a leading fast-casual restaurant chain that is dedicated to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients and absolutely no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Since its inception, Chipotle has distinguished itself by breaking away from the traditional fast-food model and creating a unique dining experience that emphasizes quality, sustainability, and community engagement. With locations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle is the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all its restaurants across North America and Europe. The company is committed to making great food accessible to everyone and is continuously innovating in digital, technology, and sustainable business practices. It is widely recognized for its strong brand purpose, passionate employees, and leadership in pioneering healthier food options and ethical farming practices.
Within this inspiring environment, the role of the Kitchen Leader is an exceptional opportunity to grow within a company that is focused on delivering delicious food and excellent customer service while championing sustainability and teamwork. This position is designed for individuals who love to learn, lead, and contribute to crafting the best dining experience possible. The Kitchen Leader is responsible for preparing great food, grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and ensuring every meal served meets Chipotle’s high standards for quality and safety. This role goes beyond food preparation—it involves managing kitchen operations, maintaining cleanliness and organization, overseeing inventory, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is functioning correctly.
Kitchen Leaders act as role models and mentors within the team, helping train Crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders, fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture. On duty, they stay actively engaged, accomplishing tasks efficiently, supporting their teammates, and promoting an environment of mutual respect and continuous improvement. This leadership position offers competitive base pay ranging from $16.35 to $18.19 per hour, along with eligibility for digital tips and a robust benefits package. Chipotle provides opportunities for career advancement, with a majority of managers having started as Crew members, highlighting the company’s commitment to internal growth and development.
In summary, the Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle Mexican Grill is not just about cooking; it’s about embracing the company’s Food With Integrity philosophy, fostering a positive team dynamic, and upholding the high standards that make Chipotle a trusted name in fast-casual dining. This position invites enthusiastic candidates to join a people-first company where diversity, equity, and inclusion are celebrated, and where everyone’s contribution helps cultivate a better world through better food and better practices.
