As a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle, you will hold a pivotal role in delivering the exceptional food experience that guests expect. This position involves learning and mastering the preparation of Chipotle’s menu items, including grilling meats and sautéing vegetables to perfection. You will be responsible for ensuring food quality and safety standards are consistently met while maintaining an organized, clean, and well-stocked kitchen environment. In addition to hands-on food preparation, the Kitchen Leader plays an essential role in managing inventory, monitoring food waste, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning safely.
A significant aspect of the role includes training and mentoring Crew members, guiding them to become future Kitchen Leaders. This leadership position requires excellent communication skills to foster a strong team dynamic between back-of-house and front-of-house staff, helping create a seamless operational flow and an outstanding customer experience. The Kitchen Leader is always proactive, taking initiative to address needed tasks, supporting teammates, and ensuring that all safety and hygiene standards are meticulously followed. Being on your feet during shifts, you will actively work towards achieving your station’s goals while embodying Chipotle’s Food with Integrity philosophy. Job Duties
- Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and following kitchen procedures
- Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, and resolving food quality issues
- Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
- Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
- Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
- Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
- Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair
- Making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
- Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
- Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
