Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is a dynamic and innovative food service company that is revolutionizing the fast-food landscape by focusing on responsibly sourced, high-quality ingredients and sustainable business practices. Founded with a mission to cultivate a better world, Chipotle has become a leader in the restaurant industry by offering classically cooked, real food without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. With a strong presence in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all its locations in North America and Europe. The company is deeply committed to providing an exceptional guest experience, investing in technology and digital solutions, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within its workforce.

The Kitchen Leader role at Chipotle is a key position within the company's operational team, focused primarily on ensuring the delivery of delicious food while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. This role is not just about cooking; it is about shaping the future leaders of the kitchen by training and mentoring Crew members. The Kitchen Leader plays an essential part in maintaining food quality by overseeing the preparation of meals, grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and following strict kitchen procedures that align with Chipotle's Food With Integrity philosophy.

Working as a Kitchen Leader, individuals will develop skills in inventory management, monitoring food waste, and resolving food quality issues, ensuring that every meal served meets Chipotle’s high standards. This position involves constant communication with both front-of-house and back-of-house team members to support a cohesive team environment that leads to an outstanding customer experience. Kitchen Leaders also bear the responsibility of making sure the kitchen equipment is well-maintained and that all safety guidelines are strictly followed to prevent any accidents or injuries.

In addition to hands-on cooking and supervisory duties, Kitchen Leaders are pivotal in fostering teamwork and encouraging professional growth among Crew members by mentoring them into future leaders. This role demands a high level of engagement and a proactive approach, as Kitchen Leaders must always be attentive to their workspace and ready to assist teammates. The role is suited for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and appreciate the meaning of teamwork and community within the restaurant setting.

Chipotle offers competitive compensation and a wide range of employee benefits, including tuition assistance, free meals, comprehensive health insurance plans, and paid time off. The company boasts a strong culture where 80 percent of managers have risen through the ranks from Crew positions, illustrating excellent opportunities for career advancement. Moreover, Chipotle is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion, ensuring that all qualified individuals are encouraged to apply and can request accommodations as needed.
