The opportunity at Chipotle is for the position of Kitchen Leader, a critical role that combines culinary skills with leadership responsibilities. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be at the heart of the restaurant kitchen, ensuring that all food prepared meets the highest standards of quality and safety while maintaining operational efficiency. This role involves cooking and prepping food to order, grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and managing kitchen inventory and equipment. You will also be responsible for fostering a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen environment. Beyond food preparation, the Kitchen Leader plays a key role in developing team cohesion by supporting and training crew members to become future leaders themselves. This position requires a dynamic individual who can balance hands-on work in the kitchen with mentoring responsibilities, always prioritizing teamwork and excellent customer service.

As a Kitchen Leader at Chipotle, you will be active on your feet, engaging with both the back-of-house and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations and exceptional dining experiences for customers. Your duties will include monitoring food waste, managing inventory levels, and troubleshooting any food quality or kitchen equipment issues that arise. You will oversee cleaning and sanitation protocols, guarantee that safety guidelines are followed to prevent accidents or injuries, and complete important documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO) logs. Job Duties

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels and resolving food quality issues
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
  • Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
  • Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair
  • filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
